醫療資源有限的喬治亞鄉村，單身寡言的婦產科醫生，把全副身心奉獻給工作。看診接生無數之餘，還違反規定，私下協助無助女性墮胎，為這些家暴、性侵與荒謬觀念的受害者，保有一絲身體自主權。然而一次手術意外，卻讓她遭到家屬痛責，並得接受調查，不隻職涯陷入危機，長年信念也開始動搖。氣候多變的高加索山腳下，四月是春暖花開時，也是驟雨狂雷天，在她專業拘謹的外表下，同樣刮著不平靜的風暴。
